Who?

  • Trickstar & Anzu translation robot.
    • (Translates a bunch of misc other things that may not directly relate to them anyway.)
  • Used to translate on tumblr (2015-2017).
  • Kanbe Kotori is my eternal bride. Surprisingly, this information has nothing to do with what I do under this handle.

Permissions

  • My translations can be put up on the Ensemble Stars! English wikia.
    • Please feel free to fix up typos and the like (there’s probably a bunch), or change romanization/translations of certain terms to suit the wiki’s standard. I prefer not to see Anzu become [player], though.
      • It might be better to ask first for translations that have been proofread by other people (unless it’s a very blatant typo, haha). It’s not just my work at that point.
  • I can’t recommend translating a translation, so please refrain from re-translating my translations to another language.
    • Provided you know enough Japanese on your own to parse it, though, you can reference my translation if you think it’ll help you.
  • Please ask first for things other than listed here… I may respond late; sorry in advance.

On Translations

  • Translator history is the age of the enstars app + a month or two.
  • Neither English nor Japanese is my mother tongue. I don’t know what sounds natural in English, and I may misunderstand the Japanese text. Feel free to make suggestions, or correct me where I am mistaken.
  • I probably make weird romanization decisions and am inconsistent in which titles I choose to translate (e.g. keeping buchou for Wataru but changing it to captain for Chiaki, only to forget it and translate it differently for other stories etc). I’m sorry. Feel free to mentally change them in your mind if they bother you.
    • …Or just be upfront and tell me. I’m more than happy to have someone else make the decisions for me.
  • This probably doesn’t need to be said, but regardless of how neutral a translator tries to be, a translation is an interpretation of the work. It’s not math where everyone will inevitably arrive at the one true answer. If you would like to read something in its unadulterated form, please learn the original language.
